I have been an entrepreneur in the Internet Marketing industry for the last two years, and am a recognized industry leader and top income earner. Previously, I spent 20 years in corporate and technical sales. I’ll be blunt: I hated my sales job. I was working 50-60 hours a week, travelling away from my wife 2 weeks per month, but I fooled myself into thinking that I’d found my “dream job”. I went to work on autopilot each Monday, and I was doing all that all for less than $52k a year!

In January 2008 (in an early sign of the current economic downturn), I was laid off with no warning and I was out the door. Furthermore, this was one month after my wife and I moved into a brand new home with a big mortgage. Talk about a scary time for our finances! I was once again in the employment line, sending out resumes for jobs way below my experience, and getting nowhere with interviews in a very competitive job market. However, a month later while browsing the Internet for sales jobs, I clicked my sponsor’s home business ad, and my life has never been the same since!

Within hours of applying the marketing education and training, I was easily generating traffic and leads. In fact, I sold my first product within 6 days of starting (in spite of having ZERO online marketing experience!). I now love the entrepreneurial lifestyle, working from the comfort of home so I can spend more time with my wife and family. I even sent a thank you card to my former boss for doing me a favour as I never realized before that I was “psychologically unemployable”! I guess I’d always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but did not know how to start. Over the past year I have never been happier and I love working my own business, learning about marketing, and speaking to and networking with people from all over world! What a truly liberating feeling being the master of my own destiny.

Within 8 months of starting my own online marketing business from home, I was honoured to receive a “Master Marketing Award” at a live marketing training event in Dallas, Texas. Success for me is now measured by the quality of my life — I work 4 hours per day, walk my dog at the beach 3 times a day, enjoy my hobbies such as photography and fishing, and my wife and I get to travel more often as well. Over the past year, I’ve been blessed to be able to travel to places like Phoenix, Dallas, Lake Tahoe, New York, and Las Vegas to attend live marketing training events. These events are a great opportunity not only to learn new Internet marketing skills, but also to mingle, network, and mastermind with some of the top entrepreneurs and millionaires in the industry.

Here’s what these new marketing skills have done for our lifestyle: My wife and I love to travel (yeah OK, my wife loves to shop too !), and in December ‘08, we were able to enjoy a 3-week trans-Atlantic cruise vacation out of Barcelona, Spain. We visited Barcelona and Cartagena in Spain, and then went to the very top of the Rock of Gibraltar (talk about spectacular views!), and next we shopped in the huge market in downtown Casablanca, Morocco, and visited ancient walled cities while enjoying more shopping in Agadir and Touradant, Morocco at the edge of the Atlas Mountains. We then visited the visually stunning Canary Islands on the islands of Lanzarote and La Palma before coming across the mid-Atlantic and returning via Miami, Florida. My wife is already planning our next cruise (it is a toss-up between a Panama Canal transit, northern Europe, or Hawaii!).

All my life I struggled to achieve true success with my jobs since I was often day-dreaming, surfing the ‘net, or thinking about travelling and would not get much done as a result. However, I always knew that I would become a millionaire, somehow, some way….

I do my very best to get back to anyone who asks for my help within 24-48 business hours (note I don’t usually work Sundays though so I can spend quality time with my dear wife Marcy who is an Operating Room nurse).
